Send an Announcement

You can send a one-way announcement to a contact or a group. This feature allows you to send a one-way group announcement without being inundated in chat messages. For example, you can announce to your team that the team meeting is cancelled on Friday. Your group will see the announcement but will not be able to respond.

 

A. How do I send a contact an announcement?

To send an announcement to a contact, from the messages view, tap Options in the upper right-hand corner. Then tap New Announcement.

B. How do I send a group announcement?

    1. To send an announcement to a group, go to the Groups tab from the menu.
    1. Select the group you would like to communicate to.
    2. Select Options in the top, right-hand corner and then select New Announcement
