Barge in

The Barge In feature enables you to use a Feature Access Code (FAC) to answer a call that was directed to another subscriber, or barge-in on the call if it was already answered. Barge In can be used across locations.

To barge in on a call, dial Feature Access Code *33. You will then hear a stutter dial-tone (if enabled) to let you know the system recognizes the access code and is ready for you to enter the number to which you want to barge-in. When connected, barge-in creates a three-way call among all parties.

This feature can be configured from the User Portal found at the following URL: https://businessdigital.verizon.com/myphonenext/

Please Note: Only the site administrator can setup users in the User Portal. Ask your site administrator if you do not have access into the User Portal.

How do I manage my barge in settings?

  1. From the User Portal, click on the Call Settings page.
  2. Then select the Additional Features tab within the Call Setting page.
  3. To enable Barge In, click on the toggle button to the right of the text. When it’s enabled, it will turn from dark gray to light gray. To disable, click on the toggle button again, when disabled, it should change from light gray back to dark gray.
  4. Check Play Warning Tone to hear a stutter dial tine warning you a user is barging in on your call. The tone is played after the Feature Access Code (*33) is dialed.
  5. Click the Save button.
