Yealink DECT – Phone installation

Phone installation for the Yealink DECT (W56P, W60P, and W76P) phones

The following includes step-by-step instructions for how to install your Yealink DECT (W56P, W60P, and W76P) phone.

How do I connect the network and power?

You can connect your network and power using one of the following methods. See your system administrator to determine which of the two power and network connection options to use:

  1. AC Power
  2. Power over Ethernet (PoE)

AC Power:

  1. Plug the DC power adapter into the DC port on the base station.
  2. Connect an Ethernet cable from your router/switch to the Internet port on the base station.

Note: Only use the Yealink original power adapter (5V/600mA). Using a third-party power adapter may damage the phone.

Power over Ethernet (PoE):

  1. Connect an Ethernet cable from an IEEE 802.3af compliant PoE Hub/Switch directly into the Internet port on the base station.

Note: The PoE switch supplies both network connectivity and power through the single Ethernet cable.

Insert the battery

  1. Flip the handset face-down and slide, then lift off the back cover.
  2. Insert the battery into the battery compartment.
  3. Replace the back cover until it clicks securely into place.

How do I connect the charging cradle and handset?

  1. Place the charger cradle on a flat surface near a power outlet.
  2. Plug the Yealink original power adapter into the cradle and connect it to the wall outlet.

Note: Use only the Yealink original power adapter (5V/600mA). Third-party adapters may damage the handset.

  1. Set the handset securely into the cradle.
  2. Check the top right corner of the LCD screen to confirm the charging status is displayed.

How do I register additional handsets to my base station?

Up to five handsets can be registered to a single base station, and each handset supports registration to up to four base stations.

When the handset LCD displays the prompt to press the base paging button, long-press the paging button on the base station until the registration LED begins flashing, then use one of the methods below.

Easy Registration

  1. Press the Reg softkey on the handset to complete registration quickly.

Normal Registration

  1. Press the OK softkey on the handset, then select Register Handset.
  2. Choose the desired base station and press OK. The handset begins searching.
  3. Once a base station is found, press OK to confirm.
  4. Enter the base PIN (default: 0000) and press Done to finish.

To register to additional base stations, press OK to access the main menu and navigate to Settings > Registration > Register Handset, then repeat steps 2–4.

Notes:

  • A successful registration displays Handset Subscribed along with the last 4 characters of the base station's MAC address.
  • If the screen shows Searching for Base, verify that the base station is powered on.
